The taking measurements rules

It is better to take measurements with someone else’s help. While taking measurements you should follow the next rules:

  • Do not weaken and do not stretch the measuring tape;
  • Stand with your back straight, keeping a usual posture, the hands are down; put the heels together and the toes put apart;
  • Paired indicators are should be defined on the right side;
  • The waistline should be fixed by a thin lace or a tape;
  • The right shoulder seam position should be marked by tailor’s chalk; the middle of the bust should be marked by a pin.
  • The semi girths measurements should be rounded up to whole numbers, the half width of the back and front measurements do not round up.
Neck Circ (NC)

Wrap the measuring tape around the neck, beginning at the place where the neck meets shoulders. A measurement should be divided into two. Note the measured number. For example, if a measured number is equaled to 34 cm, then the final number will be 34:2=17cm. You should do the same calculation with all the other half measurements mentioned below.
Bust Circ (BC)

This measurement is defined the size of the figure. Wrap a tape measure around your bust. Take it around your back, across your shoulder blades and under your arms. It should wrap around the fullest part of your bust. Note the measured half number.
Waist Circ (WC)
Ct-mini
You should measure the narrowest part of the waist. Mark the half number down on paper.
Hip Circ (HC)
Cb-mini
Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of the hips. Be sure to prevent yourself from drawing it too tightly. Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor. Mark the half measurement down on paper.
Back Waist Length 1 (BWL1)
Dst1-mini
It is measured from the seventh cervical vertebra to the waistline. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Back Waist Length 2(BWL2)

It is measured from the base of the neck (the highest point of the necktube), over the blade down along the spine to the waistline. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Back Width (BW)

Shs-mini

Extend the tape measure from the middle of the shoulder blades, at the base of one arm to the other. Mark the half number down on paper.
Back Shoulder Width (BShW)

Shp-mini

Extend the tape measure from the outer edge of the right shoulder to the outer edge of the left shoulder. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. Note the half number down on paper.
Front Waist Length (FWL)

Dpt-mini

Extend the tape measure from the top of shoulder at the base of the neck, over the fullest part of your bust to the waistline. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Bust Height (BH)

Vg-mini

Extend the tape measure from the top of shoulder at the base of the neck till the highest part of the bust (this measurement is taken at the same time with the previous one). Mark the whole number down on paper.
Breast Distance (BD)

Centr-g-mini

Extend the tape measure parallel to the floor between the fullest part of the bust. Note the half number down on paper.
Shoulder Length (ShL)

Dpl-mini

Extend the tape measure from the base of the neck along the outer shoulder, till the shoulder-joint. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Shoulder Circ (ShC)

Opl-mini

Wrap a tape measure around the thickest part of the upper arm. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Wrist Circ (WrC)

Oz-mini

Wrap a tape measure around the wrist. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Elbow Length  (ElL)

Drl-mini

Extend the tape measure from the shoulder-joint till the elbow. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Sleeve Length (SlL)

Dr-mini

Extend the tape measure from the shoulder-joint till the wrist. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Clothing length (ClL)

Du-mini

It is measured from the seventh cervical vertebra (for the shoulder clothing) or from the waistline (for the half-length clothing) down to the preferred, desired hemline.
Armhole Height Back (AHB)

Measure from the seventh cervical vertebra to the horizont line made by the tape through the armpit. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Shoulder Height Oblique(SHO)

Measured diagonally (the shortest distance) from the intersection point of the waist line with the shoulder point. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Trouser Length (TrL)

The distance from waist to feet.
Length Front (LenF)

Distance from the waist line through the most protruding point of the abdomen and then vertically to the floor.
Leg Length (LegLen)

Measure the length inside of the leg from the crotch to the floor. spread legs slightly.
Knee Length (KL)

 The distance from waistline to knee.
Width Trousers Bottom  (WTB)

The desired width of pants at the bottom of the ankle. Note the half number down on paper.
Haunch Circ (HC)

The tape passes around the hip, touches the upper edge of the hypoglycemic fold, and closes on the outer surface of the hip. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Knee Circ (KC)

The tape passes through the popliteal fossa through the knee point and closes from the front. Mark the whole number down on paper.
Waist Line Height (WLH) The vertical distance from floor to waist line.
Knee Point Height (KPH)

The vertical distance from floor to knee point.
